Real Estate Law

The Law Offices of Richard Katz represents clients in real estate transactions of almost every type and will protect your interests in any transaction or litigation. We have successfully handled hundreds of transactions over the past fourteen years, representing both buyers and sellers. We represent parties in both residential and commercial transactions and lessors and lessees in commercial lease transactions.  We provide full service for our clients, from initial contract review through final document review at the closing table.  We remain accessible and maintain strong communication with our clients at all times throughout the process.

Condominium Law

We provide legal consultation and representation in matters related to the Illinois Condominium Property Act, condo association liens, vendor and contract issues, compliance issues, and dispute resolution among association members.  Additionaly, our experience in the areas of building and construction law, zoning law, and environmental law are useful in providing consultation to our association clients. 

General Litigation

Environmental Law

Our law offices provide legal services concerning all aspects of environmental law. Our environmental practice handles matters including environmental litigation, regulatory compliance, and permitting. We handle cases involving local, state, and federal law and can capably resolve disputes with administrative agencies, governmental bodies, and private entities. We provide legal counsel on transactional matters regarding All Appropriate Inquiry and the Innocent Landowner Defense.  We can also tackle issues concerning asbestos, mold, indoor air quality, underground storage tanks, and other matters involving human health and environmental contamination. Our practice is experienced with all major federal environmental statutes including CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, NEPA, FIFRA, OSHA, as well as state and local laws.

Construction Law

Our law offices have represented clients in numerous areas of construction law including contracts, litigation of construction defect claims, and litigation of mechanic's lien claims. Zoning, Land Use,  Municipal Law, and Building Code Violations 

Our law offices represent clients seeking zoning variances, special use permits, changes in classification, and matters regarding development. We will review the zoning ordinance in question, provide an assessment of the matter, and use documentation and demonstrative evidence to successfully present your case.
